chocolate food cupcake Chocolate Food Cupcake – This is an amazing recipe.  You mix sour cream into the batter to add moistness and it also adds a subtle tang to it.  Now put a rich silky smooth ganache that will make a rich topping.  To get the curled chocolate on top, all you have to use is a vegetable peeler.  Just like peeling a carrot. Very easy to do.  My amazing wife made this for me and I tell you.  It was so delicious I add 3.  It was over my limit but I couldn’t resist.  I had to have more.

INGREDIENTS

  • 3/4 cup unsweetened Dutch-process cocoa powder
  • 3/4 cup hot water
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons coarse salt
  • 1 1/2 cups (3 sticks) unsalted butter
  • 2 1/4 cups sugar
  • 4 large eggs, room temperature
  • 1 tablespoon plus 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 cup sour cream, room temperature
