Drummer baby monkey tamburello Cake by Rossella Curti
Baby Monkey Cake – When Mrs. Italia asked me for a cake for the first birthday of her daughter Serena, she spoke referring to her as “my little monkey”….. From that came my idea to realize a baby monkey . The more I kept on modelling the more I loved her face, her expression, her colours…..so much that I resolved to give her a name. So that baby monkey became Tamburella and the cake under is the drum she play. Colours have to be delicate but not so light, as the cake is for a birthday and not for a christening. This work was not particularly hard for me, but the Mrs. Italia is a very anxious woman and she was always on the phone asking about the cake…….what kind of filling inside, may be this or that one…..we are 40 or may be we are 50 persons, I don’t like chocolate, no nuts, no almonds…..and so on….finally I used milk cream and Chantilly. To tell the truth I’ve been worried all the time until the event’s end. I spent hours looking at the phone thinking it could suddenly ring for bad news from Mrs. Italia. But it stood in silence all evening long. The day after it rang…..yes, it was Mrs. Italia, but she was incredibly happy, she liked the cake at all, and she thanked me so much! Wow, thank you God! I happy!
